Starting to work on new historically based script inspired by my research and filming in Western Louisiana for my documentary "The Descendants of Africa: Evolution of a People and Culture"...

At rise is scene of present day debutante ball. Then blackout and slow rise to scene of a party circa 1802 in western Louisiana. African women mingle with French and Spaniard gentlemen...A shy and apprehensive Lizette meets Ferdinand Montoya... A year later Lizette is pregnant and living in a grand house and large plantation on the Red River that Ferdinand has purchased. Her pushy mother, who lives with them, continues making her potions and love perfumes . She sells them to hopeful mothers who bargain with European men of means to accept their daughters. Ferdinand is delayed in Cuba on business and writes her of talk of problems ahead regarding the apparent acquisition of Louisiana by the British...
