HEADING INTO WEEK THREE OF REHEARSALS

We begin week 3 of rehearsals. We have overcome the illnesses and we move forward. We will be off book and nurturing our characters into full development. It is an organic and evolutionary process... For we aim to bring the characters to LIFE! "Acting" is a bad word in this production. I'll be posting pics and clips during our process as we give birth to the residents of Red River.

FOR TICKETS PLEASE CLICK ON THE TITLE OF THIS POST.

GROUPS ARE HAPPILY INVITED

Because "Blood Makes The Red River Flow" is full of little known historical facts church groups, students over 16 years, and clubs are strongly encouraged to attend. Make sure you make arrangement well in advance to ensure seating. Please email red_river_play@yahoo.com for arrangements.

REHEARSALS AND OTHER NEWS...

Our rehearsals are coming along wonderfully, considering we just completed our 2nd week. However 2 of the cast members were ill but did a great job this week. I cancelled one rehearsal so they could re-group and heal. Then my leading lady got stricken with the bug and I had to beg her to stay home. She insisted on coming anyway and lay low but she had to finally surrender to her illness and stay home. This weekend we turn up the heat! If you haven't gotten your tickets click the title of this post which will take you to the Eventbrite website. If you don't have a credit card you can pay cash and be put on a list. EMAIL red_river_play@yahoo.com TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE VENUE AT ANY TIME INCLUDING DAY OF PERFORMANCES.

Next week I will meet with the granters of the Space Grant I was awarded from the Looking Glass Theatre. The performances will be in the first 2 weeks of May. I am so grateful, as this makes it possible to re-mount my other powerful play "A Wound In Time" as well as film it for DVD distribution. Everyone should have the experience of THEATRE!

GEARING UP FOR A FAB SHOW!

My biggest fear regarding taking on such a big role, as the earthy pushy Creole mom, was memorizing all those lines. In fact that has always been my only apprehension for the past 35 years regarding doing a play. 35 years later, with a memory not as on point I figured memorizing my lines would be a major task. However, I am pleasantly surprised to find that memorizing lines is a lot easier than it was when I was younger and I have most of my lines down already. This all may be due to the fact that I wrote the script and it is all in my subconscious anyway... GET YOUR TIX EARLY!
