"WOMEN YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW: SILK STOCKINGS AND THE BIBLE" ALMOST DONE!

As play #1 in my trilogy "Women You Thought You Knew: The Grinder" is set for a staged reading June 30th, play #2 in the trilogy, "Silk Stockings and The Bible", is nearing completion.  The church lady with a past is set in the Harlem and Atlantic City club scene circa 1940's.  She is a chorus girl who takes us on a journey through the years and ultimately to the Bible.  Does she have regrets about the past or about the present?

WOMEN YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW: SILK STOCKINGS AND A BIBLE IS COMING TO LIFE!!!

I am flooding with creativity this week as I continue with play #2 in my trilogy of "Women You Thought You Knew".  The chorus girl, Fannie Mae Brown" aka "Della Starr" is finally coming to life in Harlem circa 1944.  I just wrote this scene when JC, a sailor home on shore leave, rolls a silk stocking up her leg with a diamond ring inside.  Fannie suddenly feels it hurting her foot and is in total shock with his proposal!  The creative process is so serendipitous! Play #1 in the trilogy, "The Grinder" will have a staged reading June 30th. Stay tuned.

DATE CONFIRMED BY VENUE FOR DINNER THEATRE

The venue has confirmed the date the cast and I have suggested for our dinner theatre event.  The owners are in the middle of preparing a menu of "bayou influenced" cuisine.  As soon as it's done tickets will go on sale!  Stay tuned.

MOI IS IN CREATIVE BLISS!

Besides, directing a staged reading of my latest play, and co-producing my historical Creole drama as a dinner theatre event, I have also been asked to participate in the staged reading of "The Old Ladies Bar" by Natasha Lowery.  It will be part of New Federal Theatre's staged reading series.

All this a lots of work, but a joy for me to do what I do.  For it is who I am.  In the midst of health issues, it is what keeps me going.  My medicine...
