2 DOWN AND 1 TO GO!!!!!!!

The second play of the trilogy had it's workshop performance August 27th before a very appreciative audience.  Lots of great pics taken by my Co-Producer, Bill Russo, posted below.  My sister also took tons of stills which will be posted when available.  One more play to be workshopped and then we hid to a full production early 2015 at a larger venue, possibly Off Broadway for a historical run.  Thanks to all who made it possible!

A SHORT HIATUS COMING UP!!!!

Looking forward to taking a "breather" from writing, producing, and directing for the month of September after the performance of play #2 of my trilogy on Wednesday. In October I will begin revisions of play #3 and produce it late November/early December. Thus I would have fulfilled my goal of having each play workshopPed before year's end in preparation for all three plays to go up in the same run, possibly Off Broadway early 2015. I hope to begin filming my feature end of this year as well, God willing.

"LADY DAY ON BROADWAY"... AMAZING AND INSPIRING!

As I prepare to bring a moment in the Swing Era to the stage, I experienced the essence of a legend from that era last night, the great Billie Holiday in "Lady Day On Broadway". It was amazing and so inspiring... On August 27th I will think of her and all the legends of that time and hope we do the era justice. Brava Audra McDonald!

That's me with pal and stage manager of my Creole play, "Blood Makes The Red River Flow", the wonderful David Brooks.  David thinks I Iook like Billie Holiday and wants me to play her in a play he is working on.

INSPIRATIONS FOR "SILK STOCKINGS AND A BIBLE"

Hollywood and Broadway pioneer Harold Cromer

I was so lucky to have known legends and pioneers in entertainment who told me stories of the early days on Broadway, the Chitlin' Circuit, and in Hollywood!  They are referred to in the play in homage.  RIP and thank you Dr. Harold Cromer, Jimmy "Sir Slide" Mitchell and his former partner Dr. Jimmy Slyde of the "Slyde Brothers".
